If you’ve been promoting through branded clothing for a while, no doubt you feel you’ve been there, done that and have the t-shirt, polo-shirt and maybe a jacket or fleece too. Alternatively, you might be looking into your first promotional clothing order and be at a loss for what garment to buy. If you are worried about originality and want to keep your  promotional wear interesting and unique why not go for another garment, preferably one not as common for promotion today.

The baseball cap is currently enjoying a comeback as it’s embraced by all sorts of fashion styles, becoming synonymous with everyone from Hollywood stars and couture models to hipsters. No longer is it purely a hip-hop style, nor is it ridiculed as something those who don’t care about fashion wear.

The baseball cap is both practical and stylish, but edgy enough to set your business apart.

Trucker caps are baseball caps which usually have mesh material at the back and an adjustable strap. They are also known as ‘gimmes’ because they were so often given away as promotional freebies by farm and feed supply companies to farmers and more often than not to those travelling the road; the truckers.

As with many corporate products the caps have moved away from purely ‘gimmes’ or freebies and become sought after fashion items. This is in part due to celebrities donning them proudly in public, furthering their popularity. For instance musician Seasick Steve who harks from rural America is often pictured donning a John Deere (tractor company) baseball cap in his performances.

A recent rise in hipster and ‘geek chic’ fashion has seen flat peak caps usually associated with hip-hop style emerging across the board as a fashion must. From Will.I.Am sharing his unique fashion every week on The Voice and Rita Ora wearing a backwards cap with hippy sunglasses to baseball caps with shirt and tie or with ‘GEEK’ emblazoned upon them there is a way to wear a baseball cap to suit every style.
