School uniforms are one of those subjects you don’t spend a lot of time talking about, but that doesn’t make them any less important. In fact, having the right school clothes ready when they’re needed really is a ‘big deal. So here are some suggestions to insure that you are organized for the school year.First you want to decide if the uniforms you have on hand are the right size. If not you need to go online and find the best deals. But don’t throw away the uniforms the kids outgrew if they are still in good condition because there are plenty of parents who would love to buy clean usable uniforms. These are tough economic times and being thrifty is a virtue. You can ask the school if they have a uniform program for example or find out which thrift stores carry uniforms.
As you sort through the uniforms, make a list of what you need in terms of the number of each type of uniform clothing pieces and the sizes. When you shop online, the list will make it easy to quickly order what you need and only what you need. One of the nice advantages of online shopping is that you can do it any time of day or night at your convenience.
Once your order is delivered, it’s a good idea to write the child’s name in the collars of the polo shirts or printed t-shirts. There are pens made with special ink for writing on cloth. The ink won’t bleed and make a mess.
And by the way…keeping your uniforms in a designated spot in the closet will help you avoid the morning rush. You won’t have to listen to cries of, “Mum…I can’t find my school shirt and I’m late!” School uniforms may not be a topic for a party conversation, but they are certainly an important topic…if you are parents of school aged children!
