London Based Elle Macpherson Struts Runway in New Virgin Blue UniformsAustralian Elle Macpherson is now located in London because that’s where she established her company named Elle Macpherson Intimates. Recently the model returned to Sydney to participate in a fashion show that revealed new airlines uniforms. Virgin Blue introduced spicy red, black and white uniforms for flight attendants that are stylish and colourful. What better way to showcase the new uniforms than by letting a sexy model like Macpherson lead a group of beautiful Virgin Blue flight attendants down a long runway?

The fact the new uniforms were introduced with so much publicity tells you the important role uniforms play in a business. Uniforms set employees apart from the crowd and make them identifiable to customers. But they also give a business a polished successful look that attracts people. In other words, they are all about doing good business.

From simple printed t-shirts to embroidered shirts to full uniforms like those worn by the flight attendants, clothing can help businesses grow.

Macpherson is nicknamed The Body. When she first led the flight attendants down the runway, the glamorous model was wearing a sexy looking pilot uniform (not the real version of course). Behind her walked 60 attendants making a real splash in their new red uniforms. Macpherson said that she agreed to do the promotional walk as a favour to her friend Sir Richard Branson. Branson owns Virgin Blue. The model told reporters, “I’m here doing a favour for Richard because I think he’s very inspiring as an entrepreneur. The work that he’s doing in supporting Australian fashion and Australian travel is very important – he could have chosen a British designer.”

Next time you fly Virgin Blue, it’ll be easy to spot an attendant. Just look for the red uniform.
