Denise Lesiak and Sandy Wiercinski, both aged fifty-one have turned their friendship into a business relationship at Shirts Illustrated, a company that is now in its seventeenth year of trading in Lakeview. Shirts Illustrated offers a wide range of custom orders that includes embroidery and lettering, and can accommodate orders from 1 to 1,000 or higher. The company also sells licensed merchandise such as Superman and the Simpsons. They were also the contracted supplier for the Gay Games VII that was held last summer in Chicago, and supplied all the official licensed souvenirs for the games. Their best selling printed T-shirts at the time of the games was “world flag” and included words about the event on the front and flags on the rear. Lesiak said “The Gay Games was pretty large for us,” and they sold over 2,800 of the world flag shirts.
The company Shirts Illustrated have sold over 1,000 Games-related items over the Internet over the past few months and anything to do with Superman is the biggest seller for the store as well as the Simpsons. The owners have also noticed high sales of fad connected shirts. “The most popular thing and the most interesting thing for me to do is people who only want one or two items. And we do that all the time,” Lesiak said. Lesiak added For instance, a customer once had a T-shirt made saying, “I gave my brother a kidney and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.” They also create printed T-shirts and will also work on just one item as well as large orders. The company has eight staff that includes four people who work full time.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
