Do you think of promotional clothing as only work clothing? Do you ever think of it as fashionable? If you equate promotional clothing with mostly work, it’s time to change your mindset because personalization of clothing and accessories has become fashionable.Promotional clothing is considered a niche market, and it’s a market that’s been around a long time. Originally, promotional clothing was designed for the wealthy and the only thing being promoted was the high end clothing designers. The promotional aspect consisted mostly of a small logo sewn or monogrammed on the shirt so everyone would know you were wearing designer clothing. Now you see promotional clothing in all price ranges and on clothing used for work and play. It comes in and out of fashion for leisure clothing, but it’s always popular for work clothes.
Personalization of clothing and accessories is once again making a hit in the fashion world. You can find designer initials on sunglasses, shirts, women’s bags, wallets and much more. Adding initials, a logo or a company name to products promotes a connection between the brand and consumers. The more expensive brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada are using personalization on custom ordered items and department store collections. Though the fashionable clothes and accessories turn promotional clothing into luxury items, the fact is that monograms, logos and initials are added for one main reason. The personalization makes the person stand out in a crowd and that’s perfect marketing for any business.
Promotional clothing or personalized clothing has gone mainstream for work and leisure clothing. A little stitching on office uniforms or a logo on printed t-shirts is doing the same job as the embossed initials on Gucci bags. Guess you could say that personalization is an equalizer when it comes to branding.
