The ‘Bare-naked Ladies’ recently held a printed T-shirts design contest for their new tour and decided that all five finalists would be allowed to sell their creations at up coming concerts. These finalists will also receive an autographed copy of the band’s new album and backstage passes to meet the band after the show.Fan and fourth runner-up Kirsten Harris, a graphic designer living in Victoria, Canada, was very excited to hear that all of the finalists’ work would be sold during the tour. Her design, which features a small creature with a cartoon balloon bearing the band’s logo “BNL”, has already sold out. “My T-shirt was the only one that sold out. That’s pretty cool,” said Harris. 1,000 copies of each of the shirts were made to be sold at the concerts.
Explaining her design, Harris said, “That’s the first thing I came up with. I think it looks like a pear. Someone else thinks it looks like a little lima bean.”
There was only supposed to be one grand prize winner in this contest, but the band was so impressed with all of the designs, they could not choose just one, so 1,000 printed T-shirts of designs from all five finalists will be sold at upcoming concerts, including the first prize winner, a woman from Florida, USA.
Harris has seen the band 15 times and is looking forward to seeing them again and to meeting them after the show. She was a little upset that her printed T-shirts is no longer available and won’t be sold in her home town, but she is pleased nonetheless. She plans on wearing one the shirts when she meets the band backstage.
The ‘Bare-naked Ladies’ have officially kicked off their new tour starting at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre and will be touring in the US and Canada for the next few months.
