the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

T-shirt Designers Celebrate Diversity

Sunday 04th of February 2007 11:34:59 PM

T-shirt Designers Celebrate Diversityprinted T-shirts celebrating the lives of the NFL’s only two African American football coaches, Tony Dungy of the Indianapolis Colts, and Lovie Smith who coached the Chicago Bears, were the idea of two men, Don Magnum and Elton McWashingon, of Houston, Texas, USA. The men wanted to find a way to celebrate of Black History Month in the United States and the advancement of Black Americans in professional sports and thought a t-shirt was perfect.

‘Soul bowl’ t-shirts will be distributed to local shops in Houston and in Miami, where the super bowl will be held, Louisiana, and Maryland. Shirts may be sent elsewhere as orders have been pouring in. Magnum and McWashington, both artists, pick a theme each February for their printed T-shirts, but say that this year has the most popular so far.

It is no surprise that these t-shirts have been so popular. "T-shirts, since the '60s, have been the favourite vehicle to make a statement on," Marshal Cohen, NPD Group Inc. chief analyst said by e-mail. "Only the baseball cap in the past six years has even come close to becoming a statement and collectable. printed T-shirts allow consumers to express, support or even promote a cause or event."

It is also the message that the t-shirts say about how far African Americans have come over the past forty years. “You always want to make records of milestones," McWashington said. "I didn't get to witness the March on Washington or any of those things, but to actually experience this is an honour."

Magnum, who owns a t-shirt design company, said of honouring the coaches, “A historical moment like this you can't miss out on expressing it.”
