the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

T-shirts in Space

Tuesday 13th of February 2007 06:53:14 PM

T-shirts in SpaceStudents from Golden Hill Elementary School in Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA welcomed back their school t-shirt that went on a five million mile journey from their school to Florida, where the space shuttle Discovery was launched, and then into space. The journey to get to space took two years, but it was well worth it.

Purple printed T-shirts with the school’s name and mascot, an eagle, are used to represent students when they participate in school events. When students learned that they could contact NASA astronaut John Kelly about questions they had about space exploration, they did so. Some of the students asked Kelly if he would take one of their school t-shirts into space on his next mission.

Jon Zaino, who works with Kelly, and who has a niece and nephew who attend Golden Hill Elementary, could not promise the students that the t-shirt would make it into space, but he would ask for permission anyway. “I think this is a fairly rare situation. There are very limited and restrictive packing requirements on the space shuttle,” Zaino said to the students when the shirt was returned to their school.

Before the t-shirt went on its journey, it was signed by students and teachers. The t-shirt will be kept on school grounds for all to see. In addition, a second t-shirt, signed by Kelly, will be auctioned off to help pay for new equipment and materials for the science department. Kelly also sent three mission patches that were given to students who participated in a raffle. “I'm going to put the patch in a safe spot,” said sixth grader Anthony Quinney, of his patch.

Students were very pleased with their efforts and are proud to wear their printed T-shirts. They were also excited because of the historic event they were able to participate in at their school.
