Marie Depond, a resident of Bellevue, Michigan, USA recently donated several clothing items to the Bellevue Historical Society Museum that have significant historical value. In addition to several military uniforms from World War I, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, Depond donated her own wedding dress, which was made from parachute silk. The dress, which was made by relatives, cost very little at the time because other materials were difficult to find at the time the dress was made.During World War II, the government had an excess amount of parachute silk that it made available to brides who wanted special material for their special day. But Depond’s dress is even more special because this parachute has a history. “I was very proud to wear that dress because my brother brought it home from the war, and because my cousin, Bernadine Miller, made it. I took the parachute apart myself, and that was a big job. But it turned out to be a comfortable dress, and I loved it,” said Depond.
Donating these items to the museum made sense to the Depond family. “I've had my father's uniform ever since the first World War, and we're in our 80s now. We felt that the dress and the uniforms should be preserved somewhere, and, since my husband and I both grew up in Bellevue, and my father was from Bellevue, we felt the uniforms should go there,” said Depond.
The historical society is very pleased to have these items to display. In addition to the military uniforms; hats, shoes, discharge papers, and other items were also donated. “It's a wonderful gift to our museum because everything is in such excellent condition. Also, everything that they gave us connects directly with Bellevue,” said Bellevue Historical Society Treasurer Joyce Miller.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
