the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Bob Marley T-shirts Seized

Friday 02nd of March 2007 06:36:57 PM

Bob Marley T-shirts SeizedOfficials in the Dominican Republic seized printed T-shirts and other items from several stores that featured references to marijuana on Wednesday after President Leonel Fernandez sent a warning to vendors that police were going to place more emphasis on seizing this type of merchandise as a way to end the drug trafficking that is taking place.

The printed T-shirts in question featured well-known reggae performer Bob Marley smoking a marijuana cigarette and surrounded by marijuana leaves. Other shirts featuring marijuana were also seized along with hats, bracelets, necklaces, and other jewellery. Police will be questioning the owners of three stores where the merchandise was found.

The stores have been closed down until further notice. The business owners are Ecuadorian who ran stores in the capital of the Dominican Republic. No word yet on what charges may be filed against the businessmen or if they will have to pay a fine.

Many countries are trying to stop drug trafficking by closing down establishments that sell items that glorify drug use. Even though it is well known that Bob Marley smoked marijuana, this does not mean that those who buy one of these shirts will start smoking or currently smoke. But the possibility is too great, especially in countries where drug trafficking is so popular.

Since vendors were warned about crack downs by police concerning the selling of t-shirts with images of drug use and other paraphernalia, it is no surprise that three shops have already been shut down. While this is not the only measure taken against drug trafficking, it is sending a message to those who engage in the practice or at least those who condone it by selling printed T-shirts of this kind.
