At the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show held in Bridgewater, New Jersey, USA, Brother International Corporation showcased its new sewing and embroidery machines that use computer technology and software that is easy for most consumers to use.“The Consumer Electronics Show was the perfect venue for us to display the latest technology in sewing and embroidery. We are seeing strong growth in the popularity of sewing and the use of embroidery technology to personalise clothing, hats, bags, quilts and many other items. Consumers want technologically advanced sewing and embroidery machines that are easy to use and include powerful software and features. At Brother, we are committed to designing machines that meet and exceed these requirements. Our products turned many heads at this year’s CES 2007 which reinforces this exciting period in our sector,” said Dean. F. Shulman, senior vice president of Brother and head of the company’s Home Appliance Division.
The new embroidery machines have LCD screens, built-design patterns, software that will allow images to be scanned into the machine, and USB ports that can be plugged into any computer so that images can be downloaded into the embroidery machine. These new machines are appealing to a whole new generation of embroiders.
Smaller machines that are potable have six needle capabilities, and software for transporting images, and UBS ports. People who enjoy embroidering will be able to make colour changes and other changes on a small screen. These types of innovations will hopefully make people become more interested in embroidery, sewing, and quilting in the future.
