the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Giving T-shirts, Medical Assistance, and Hope

Saturday 17th of March 2007 12:46:00 AM

Giving T-shirts, Medical Assistance, and HopeOn a recent trip to Haiti, Lisa Walker, from Canyon City, Colorado, USA, handed out printed T-shirts to many of the children and adults who came to the temporary clinic the team had set up. She gave away over one thousand shirts to those who would probably not receive any new clothing for a long time.

“The children each came into the room where I had theprinted T-shirts organized. They came in holding hands. It didn’t matter if they were in first or sixth grade. They were so excited and just beaming and saying thank you. For a lot of these kids, these are the only new clothes they’re going to get for who knows how long. What we take for granted here, they relish. I was just amazed of the appreciation of those kids and the adults as well,” said Walker.

Those who visited the clinic were treated for minor cuts and bruises to having cancerous tumors removed. “We saw about 350 people; half of those were kids. We saw everything from gastric heartburn and lots of depression, which kind of surprised us, and kids with pinworms. A lot of the kids have asthma because there’s so much dirt, dust and rubbish,” Walker said. “We gave them medicine for that. Each kid that we saw got vitamins or whatever they needed,” said Walker.

Walker, who visited Haiti with members of the St. Mary Corwin team, which included doctors, nurses, and interpreters, went there to see where they could build a new clinic. With a three-year grant from the Catholic Health Initiative, the team plans on building a 1,500-1,800 square foot facility. The team may apply for new grants if they need to in the future.
