the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Starting an Embroidery Business and Finding Community

Wednesday 21st of March 2007 11:02:13 PM

Starting an Embroidery Business and Finding CommunitySince starting an embroidery business after retiring from a 20 year career in the military and 12 years working for the State Department in Washington DC, USA, Bill Barnhardt has learned how to run a store, use embroidery machines, and much more along with his wife, Leny. It was an idea that Leny’s son brought to the couple’s attention after having worked for an embroidery company. The couple moved to Georgia, USA, and set up their new business, ‘Finishing Touches Embroidery’.

Business for the couple has been good, but they want more. “We are just trying to be a part of the community. We are not doing this because we have to, we are doing this because we want to.” said Barnhardt. The couple has two embroidery machines with sixteen needles and three heads. They are capable of taking on large and small orders. With over 20,000 designs to choose from, customers will have an unlimited amount of ideas. They can also bring their own ideas as well. “What people are looking for is only limited by their imagination, with embroidery,” said Barnhardt.

The couple each shares the work, which includes running the store front and the machines. They can embroider many different types of items from polo shirts to hats. Depending on the embroidery order, they can have it done in a few hours or up to a week. Being able to be part of a community and spend time doing something they enjoy, the couple made the right choice to move to a new town and start a business.

embroidery businesses can be very successful as there are many organisations, sports teams, local groups, and individuals who need to have items embroidered. Using local talent makes the items even more special.
