After ordering new school uniforms for their infant division, those who work at the Walton Infant School, located in Peterborough, UK, and the Park Road Store, the shop where the uniforms were purchased, found out that the school would be merging with Walton Junior School. This meant there would no longer be an infant division. Instead of leaving the uniforms in a closet, they decided to donate them to an orphanage in Africa. There are many orphanages in the country that need donations. It was the right choice. “They have seen pictures of the uniforms being worn by children at the orphanage, and said it was a great feeling seeing the difference they had made,” Tracey Compton, one of the owners of the store. uniforms including sweaters, vests, pants, and other items were sent to an orphanage in Namibia. Because the orphanage does not have to resources to purchase new clothing for the children who live there, donating the uniforms seemed like the best choice. Since there were hundreds of uniforms ordered, many of the children who live in the orphanage will be able to wear new clothing.
Donating items to charity is a wonderful way to make use of items that are no longer used or needed. Many companies each year donate uniforms and other clothing to those who need it. Other stores connected with the Park Road Store had donated unwanted clothing to charity in the past and knew exactly how they could help. Suggesting the items go to the orphanage will help many children who do not have homes or family at least be able to have clothing.
Three boxes of clothing have already been sent to the orphanage with the help of an RAF airplane.
