GAP, Inc. is one of the largest companies to use cotton in the retail industry. In 2005, the company joined the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which promotes among other things, the use of organic cotton. GAP has recently introduced a new line of men’s printed T-shirts that are made entirely out of organic cotton. The cotton, which has not been treated with chemicals, pesticides, or other harmful irritants and dyed using naturals dyes, can be found in garments being sold in over five hundred stores. The printed T-shirts, which were created out of the alliance GAP has with the BCI and consumer demand, are available in three styles, crew neck, v-neck, and a tank. “Our customers have shown a real interest in responsibly produced products. We’re always exploring new ways to make our products, and we’re excited to offer environmentally sensitive items we think our customers will love,” said Kindley Walsh Lawlor, senior director of strategic planning and environmental affairs for Gap Inc.
Plain and printed T-shirts are identified with a tag that says ‘100% organic cotton’. The BCI, which also fights for the rights of cotton farmers, and the protection of the environment, has teamed up with other fashion retailers and manufacturers as well including ICCO, Organic Exchange, WWF, and the United Nations Environmental Programme. So far, the group’s efforts have been successful.
GAP, Inc. will begin manufacturing other clothing using organic cotton in the coming months. Since the chain is so well-known, this is a great opportunity for the BCI to gain more awareness and be able to work with other retailers in the future.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
