US toy manufacturer Hasbro released its first quarter earnings as it continues to expand into other markets which include interactive games, partnering with apparel retailer Steve and Barry to launching a children’s clothing line complete with printed T-shirts, hats, and other items based on popular Hasbro toys. These changes are making a difference. “Despite the rise in gas prices and mixed consumer sentiment, overall first-quarter toy sales were up 13 percent, with strength across most segments, according to NPD data through February. In addition, we believe January and February U.S. retail same store sales reflect growth of about 2.7 percent year-over-year.,” wrote Michael L. Savner, a Banc of America Securities Analyst in a letter to clients.
Keeping up with the demand for electronic and interactive games has not been easy for many in the toy business. By diversifying, these companies are trying to find new markets where they can be successful. Hasbro is a well-known toy manufacturer with many memorable games, cartoon characters, and other items that will easily translate into printed T-shirts, video games, and other merchandise.
“During the quarter, we believe the company benefited from strength in the company's core properties across the category spectrum. Our channel checks indicate that the company's Playskool division may be gaining traction relative to Mattel's strong Fisher-Price brand,” wrote Lehman Brothers analyst, Felicia Hendrix in a statement to clients.
Understanding more about their market and being able to deliver will help Hasbro. The company has a licensing agreement with two movies: Spider Man 3, and their own Transformers Movie. Both are expected to do well in theatres, which will mean solid merchandising sales for Hasbro.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
