the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Burton Stores Pull Offensive Shirts from Shelves

Monday 14th of May 2007 10:36:55 PM

Burton Stores Pull Offensive Shirts from ShelvesT-shirts that support the ethnic cleansing in Russia were pulled from the shelves of UK menswear store Burton after employees noticed what was written on them and alerted management. Store officials were told by their supplier the slogan on the shirts read ‘Be Proud of Russia’, but in reality they read, ‘We will Cleanse Russia of all Non-Russians’. “We were assured by our supplier and that it was a patriotic slogan. As soon as we realised its significance and that it was not something we would want on our T-shirts it was withdrawn from stores," said a company spokesperson. The shirts were crew-neck style and had French logos and Russian alphabet on them.

The printed T-shirts were displayed last week in stores with an estimated 6,000 shirts for sale. The slogan is part of a growing campaign by right-wing radical groups in Russia to remove those who are not Russian from their country. In the past, radical groups such as Rodina, have used similar campaigns to spread the word of their cause using slogans like ‘Let’s Clean Moscow of the Rubbish’. The party was not allowed to take part in Moscow City council elections in 2005 because it was believed the group was targeting various cultural groups.

Burton is part of a larger group of retailers called the Arcadia group, which also owns Topshop stores. The store has not disclosed who supplied the printed T-shirts. Shirts were also taken off the company web site as of Friday.
