the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Keeping Up with the Times

Thursday 24th of May 2007 03:35:13 AM

Keeping Up with the TimesAs the clothing industry continues to change, many manufacturers have been forced to find better software to help them maintain accurate records, provide excellent customer service, and ship items as quickly as possible. Edwards Garment, a manufacturer and supplier of uniforms and other clothing for over 139 years is no exception. When choosing new software, they carefully weighed their options and chose New Generation Computing to supply them with what they needed.

Our current ERP system can't keep pace with the rapidly changing demands of our business, so clearly we needed a new solution. We required a system that will allow us to quickly fulfill orders and provide the best level of customer service, and we also needed greater visibility into the entire supply chain, from our internal design teams to our overseas factories," said Gary Schultz, president and CEO, Edwards Garment.

Edwards Garment currently has over 8,000 SKU's in their inventory, and due to growing demand for uniforms and other clothing, they also need to improve their customer service department. "NGC's product capabilities were the deciding factor. The order entry interface is superior, and NGC's supply chain communications is best in class. In selecting a software vendor, we realised that we would be entering into a long-term relationship, so we took a long, hard look at the companies behind the products. NGC emerged as the winner. We like their web-based product design philosophy, and culturally they're a great fit for Edwards Garment," said Schultz.

Since the clothing manufacturing industry has undergone many changes over the years including increased competition, outsourcing work to other countries, and the demand for more eco-friendly uniforms and clothing, having the best technology to help keep companies organised is needed if they expect to remain competitive.
