Uniform Manufacturer Cintas Given Award

Monday 28th of May 2007 10:20:16 PM

Uniform Manufacturer Cintas Given AwardLast month at the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors’ (NAUMD) Image of the Year Awards, which were held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, uniforms manufacturer Cintas was given awards for creating industry partnerships in the hospitality and travel industries. The company has worked with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and W Hotels/Starwood Hotels & Resorts among others.

“We are honoured to accept these Image of the Year Awards on behalf of our customers. Our design team has consistently been recognised for their talent in bringing innovative apparel programs into the workplace and this years awards are further proof of that talent. We are especially proud of our winners given the extraordinary competition; there is a renaissance occurring in the marketplace and many companies have come to realise the value of their brand and how that brand message is conveyed everyday with their employee’s attire,” says Brian Garry, Director of Marketing for Cintas.

Over the past few years, there has been a growing interest in creating uniforms that are more fashion forward than those in the past. Judges from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design made their decision after looking at entries from all over North America.

“The W Hotel program stood out with me, because of the simplicity of it. The program allowed the individual and the services being provided to stand out, instead of distracting guests with flashy outfits with unnecessary details. The pieces were mix-and-matchable as well, providing additional flexibility. I also think that this collection would add to the pride that a staff member would feel about the company they work for and about the uniform they have to wear. Overall, it is a powerful branding statement of style and design excellence that effectively supports the overall W theme,” said NAUMD judge and Director of Marketing for the Robb Report, Edward Cortese.
