Because of a recent independent study by the Portman Group, many UK drinks companies have decided to discontinue printing t-shirts for children that advertise their logos and brands. While the study did not conclude that advertising on the shirts influenced underage drinking, many companies are volunteering to change their advertising strategies in order to protect children. This decision came after the announcement made by the government that all drinks will have new warning labels attached to them. "There is no evidence to link this marketing with underage drinking. Even so, drinks companies are concerned about the negative perception caused by their logos appearing on children's shirts. Despite producers having only ever been interested in marketing their drinks to adults, some critics see children in replica kit as walking billboards for alcohol. This side effect of sponsorship is set to end. Drinks companies are taking the lead, even though this decision may lessen their commercial appeal as sponsors if clubs sell fewer shirts," said the chief executive of the Portman Group, David Poley.
Companies will sell the printed T-shirts they have for the upcoming season, but all contracts signed for the 2008 year will include this ban. Many sports teams are sponsored by drinks companies including Liverpool, Everton, and Glasgow Rangers. Cricket clubs including the Wasps and Essex cricket club also have deals with drinks companies to sell shirts. Drinks companies that have sponsored these sports include Shepherd Neame brewery, Chang Beer, and Carlson.
The decision to stop selling printed T-shirts to children that have advertisements for alcohol on them could affect sponsorship for these teams in the 2008 season.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
