For those who enjoy gospel, R&B, and soul, legendary label Stax Records, which launched the careers of many including Otis Redding, Issac Hayes, and Booker T and the MG’s, will be celebrating fifty years of music during a benefit concert in June. All proceeds will go to the Stax Music of American Soul Music and will be held in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.Those who want to attend the benefit will be able to purchase tickets for US$1,000. The price includes dinner, entertainment, a commemorative 50th anniversary Stax CD box set, , a tour, printed T-shirts of the museum, and lithographed poster. Many of the musicians who got their start with the label will be performing. MC’s for the event include Randy Jackson, songwriter, producer, and judge of ‘American Idol, and Chuck D, member of Public Enemy.
“I am honoured to be a part of this amazing music legacy. Stax Records is the foundation that R&B was built on. The legendary artists that Stax built are such a huge part of my music roots,” said Jackson. The label was founded in 1957 by Jim Stewart and Estelle Axton in a studio that was once a movie theatre. Because of the acoustics in the building, a unique sound was born. It became known as the ‘Stax Sound’.
“The logo of Stax says it all. That finger snap graphic brings a funky sound effect by just looking at it. With it comes a catalogue of soul heroes and heroines whose heart, souls, and passions still echo across this planet today,” said Chuck D.
“These masterful performers are legendary, and they found their fame in Soulsville USA - Memphis. I've got an intuition that Memphis is going to celebrate Stax Records this June 22nd like there's no tomorrow, said Deane Parker, who worked for Stax Records from 1963-1975.

Good all round. Will order again.
the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
