Many companies including Puma, TNF, and Berhaus have started manufacturing lines of sportswear and casual wear that are light weight and easy to move around in. Clothing such as polo shirts, jackets, shells, shorts are being worn not only as sportswear, but as casual wear as well. This means that consumers want clothing that is stylish and comfortable.Fabric choices play a large role in which articles of clothing consumers will purchase. Lighter fleece fabrics, polyester, Coolmax fabrics, and polyester micro fibre are being used more often to create clothing that is light weight that fits closer to the body.
"In addition to the drive for lighter and increased performance in fabrics, garments are not as 'boxy'. In fact, current trends show that sportswear garments are following the high street adopting softer lines and even the use of subtle prints. The polyester micro fibre used in our outer training tops are also incredibly versatile and as we see football crossing over into training, increased demands follow," said Nicci Persey of Lea Sportswear.
As more companies use lighter fabrics to create their sportswear, the more choices consumers will have. "The buoyancy of the sportswear market, undoubtedly influenced by consumers valuing their leisure time more in recent years, has really encouraged brands to develop more exciting and innovative products," said Ryan Hornbuckle, of Kustom Kit.
New products include polo shirts and other clothing that wick away sweat by not allowing it to build up on the skin. For those who enjoy being outdoors, this is one of the best ways to feel comfortable all day.
