Goodwill, a US non-profit organization that tries to help those in need by supplying low cost clothing, jobs, and other help, will acquire a local embroidery and textile printing shop that trains disabled employees so they have a valuable skill set they can take into their communities. The goal is to teach those with mental and physical challenges a skill they can use to support themselves. The shop, Logomotion, is owned and operated by Hanover Community Services, of Ashland, Virginia, USA. They have decided to donate the business, which earns around half a million US dollars a year, to Goodwill so the program can be expanded in order to help even more people. Depending on the skills they want to learn and their ability to learn them, employees can work in the shop for a few months or a few years.
"It's rehabilitation. Once clients become comfortable, they can move to a community-employment setting and hopefully from there to competitive employment. Then they're on their way. We want it to be positioned so it could eventually pay for itself. Our interest is to provide jobs for people with disabilities," said Tim Slaven, executive director of Hanover Community Services.
Along with taking over the day-to-day responsibilities of the shop, Goodwill will also maintain existing embroidery machines and screen printing machines. These items were purchased through grants from the government.
"It's really a wonderful fit for Goodwill since that has been the core of our mission and what we've done for over 100 years. We hope to grow and expand that business. We want to serve a greater number in Hanover County," said Aimee Walters, marketing and communications director for Goodwill of Central Virginia.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
