the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Making Strides to Improve Woolworth Sales

Thursday 05th of July 2007 12:31:13 AM

Making Strides to Improve Woolworth SalesEven though UK department store chain Woolworth's has 818 locations, it still reported a loss this quarter, but has made improvements to its bottom line. The store, which sells various products including promotional Clothing, casual clothing, and entertainment items has been trying to increase its sales for a number of years.

"The early warm weather drove good sales of Ladybird clothing and our outdoor ranges. Careful promotional management of Easter ensured we exited that period with minimal Easter specific residual stocks in the business. Whilst the group has had a solid start to the year, it is difficult to predict the retail environment going forward. We thus approach the second half with a degree of caution. In continuing to plan for a challenging retail environment we will run the business tightly, with a focus on cash generation, cost control and improved margin performance," said Chairman Gerald Corbett in a statement before the group's annual shareholder meeting.

Two years ago, the group released its Big Red Book, a catalogue of items offered at the stores, which helped generate interest in the products Woolworth's has to offer. But more is needed to compete with other stores in the UK. Selling items such as CD's, video games, and DVD's through to stores such as Virgin Retail and EUK has also helped increase overall sales for the company. Other retail ventures may also help the company in the coming quarter.
