The Internet is filled with many t-shirt printing companies that offer great designs, contests, and gimmicks to promote their brand. When UK t-shirt company Queen of Suburbia decided to hold a contest on MySpace to find a model for their website, hundreds of hopefuls applied. The winner is an unknown model whose career is about to take off."We're an online brand and it's been the online fashion blogs that have really promoted our cause, they're fast and dynamic and so are our customers, we think that they get bored of seeing the same old faces fronting the same old brands, it just seemed natural to us that we'd find the face of Queen of Suburbia online," said Mark Errington, marketing director for the company when asked why they conducted their search online.
The t-shirt printing company chose 22-year old Francesca Fawcett because of her beauty and her ability to sell the t-shirts, which are a mix of politics, irony, and humour. "She just stood out a mile. She has a very innocent look but her eyes reveal a sense of humour that works really well with the Queen of Suburbia brand," said Danielle Tomkinson, the founder and designer of Queen of Suburbia.
Using the Internet has helped many t-shirt printing companies grow in popularity over the last few years. Finding new ways to market their product and creating a brand may be challenging at times, but there are many ways to become successful. For example, the idea for Queen of Suburbia began while Tomkinson was sitting in the playground watching her children play and listening to the other mothers gossip about each other. The company has grown considerably through Internet marketing and word of mouth.
