the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

The Making of 'Live Earth' T-shirts

Wednesday 11th of July 2007 04:15:59 PM

The Making of 'Live Earth' T-shirtsCreating printed T-shirts for 'Live Earth' was no small task for fashion designer and retail store owner, Audrey McLoghlin. The shirts had to be made from all organic materials, manufactured completely in Los Angeles, California, USA to reduce the impact on the environment, and sold in limited quantities so they would make an impact on audiences and not create waste if there were shirts left over. “The design concept has changed several times. Originally, the shirts were tea dyed, but then the environmental world decided that tea dyeing wasn’t too eco-friendly, so we had to switch directions," said McLoghlin. In all, 600 hundred printed T-shirts were given to artists performing in the concerts, 200 were given to staff members who worked on 'Live Earth', 400 were given to those in artist relations, and 600 will be sold online to those who want to buy them. McLoghlin plans on creating a whole line of organic t-shirts and other clothing to sell in her retail stores in the future. “All of the clothing in my fashion lines are knit and designed in LA to reduce impact and keep things local. It’s my intention to use this tee as a launching pad for an all-organic fashion line that encompasses the very things Live Earth stands for," said McLoughlin. (c)Jeremy Doorten, www.sxc.hu
