Since the show debuted six years ago, 'American Idol' has not only launched the careers of several musicians and singers, it has also become a marketing venue of its own selling everything from backpacks to candy. Next year, the show will receive its own clothing line, a mix of printed T-shirts, jeans, jackets, and other items for teens and girls. "It’s going to be done in a very stylish way. It’s not going to be just slapping a logo onto a plain T-shirt like they do with concert merchandise," said Hanna Schmieder, president and creative director of Lyric Jeans, the company who will be designing the new label, titled The Lyrix.UK owned FreemantleMedia has decided to license the name of the show so it can be featured alongside famous lyrics from songs contestants have sung over the years on printed T-shirts. Lyrics from former contestant and Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Hicks will also be featured on the garments. The company currently holds license agreements with over 40 companies to produce 'American Idol' items.
Sales of the new line are expected to be high, which means that the companies will probably create a line of clothing for younger children later in the year. Many people who watch the show will be able to coordinate their outfits with ones that are similar with those performing as many of the clothes worn by performers will be from the new line.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
