the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Sunny Bank Holiday Ruins Retail Expectations

Monday 03rd of September 2007 04:26:59 AM

Sunny Bank Holiday Ruins Retail ExpectationsFor most of the summer many regions in the UK dealt with heavy rains and unpleasant weather. But last weekend was different as many took advantage of the warmer weather and the holiday to spend some time at the beach or with their families participating in outdoor activities instead of shopping. As a result, many retailers experienced one of the worst weekends of the season and are blaming the sun for their misfortune.

“For a change it was the opposite of a complete wash-out. Everyone went to the beach. Anyone you speak to in the industry will tell you it was tricky. And this comes on top of a bad summer. It has been the weather, the economy, everything," said one retail executive.

Many retailers are hoping to catch up this month by reducing t-shirts and other promotional Clothing so they can begin stocking autumn and winter items. Hoping for the best is all they can do for now.

Tracking the number of people going in and out of stores was Footfall, who reported that the number was down at least 12% from last year and over 18% on Saturday. "Last weekend everybody got killed. It was awful, useless. Most people's sales were well down," said another retail executive.

For now, retailers have to hope that sales pick up and that September is a strong month.
