the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Man Denied Flight for Wearing Printed T-shirt with Arabic Writing

Tuesday 04th of September 2007 03:44:31 AM

Man Denied Flight for Wearing Printed T-shirt with Arabic WritingThe ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and the New York Civil Liberties Union have filed a lawsuit against airline JetBlue and the TSA (Transit Authority of America) citing the entities barred Raed Jarrar, an American citizen who is originally from Iraq, from boarding a plane because of printed T-shirts he was wearing, which contained both Arabic and English phrases that read ‘We will not be silent’.

The ACLU is citing racial profiling and hopes the lawsuit will help deter airlines from continuing this behaviour. "Racial profiling is illegal and ineffective and has no place in a democratic society," said Reginald Shuford, an ACLU senior staff attorney.

Jarrar was asked to put on another t-shirt for the flight and was asked to sit in the back of the plane because other JetBlue customers complained that they felt ‘threatened’ by his presence. Jarrar, who is an architect, is married to a US citizen and according to the ACLU was, ‘not a security risk’.

Since September 11, 2001, airlines around the world have increased security and have asked passengers to be diligent by reporting anything unusual they see while waiting for their flights. But many wonder if this has caused some to act irrationally. Discriminating against those who are of certain cultural backgrounds, or who wear clothing that depict their origin is behaviour that has risen since the terror attacks and continues to be an issue with passengers, airlines, and the TSA.
