Two UK-based companies were chosen by RITE (Reducing the Impact of Textiles on the Environment) for proving their ability to create products with minimal impact on the environment and for educating others about recycling and protecting the environment by making better choices when purchasing goods. Each will receive a free booth at the upcoming RITE Group conference held in the beginning of October.UK-based T-shirt and Sons was recognised for its efforts in perfecting ink for t-shirt printing that does not contain PVC, formaldehyde or aromatic solvents. “We are extremely pleased to have been recognised as a key player in sustainable textiles and have the opportunity to exhibit at this event, let alone win our stand expenses. We feel this event is of great importance to any company involved in the textiles industry," said T-shirt and Sons director Andrew Lunt.
Ridwell Press of London, a UK- based publisher was also recognised for its efforts in educating school children and teachers through courses and informative literature that promote recycling and reusing common products found in schools and at home. “My company produces resources for textiles teachers in schools and I am keen to get the latest information on the environmental issues on sustainable textile production to pass on for classroom use. It is really important for the younger generation to have the facts about the global issues and I know that this conference will initiate ideas to be used in UK classrooms to raise the debate and increase awareness," said Jenny Ridgwell.
