England's defeat by Russia in a recent Euro 2008 qualifying match made little difference in sales for Umbro, the promotional Clothing company who manufactures football kits for England. Even if the team had won, sales still would have been much lower than anticipated. Due to other lost games and bad weather, Umbro is considering offers from Nike and other companies to take over the company. Nike, who is on of the sponsors of England's football team, has been in talks with Umbro even before England's loss to Russia. But even though Umbro is talking with Nike about a possible buyout, other promotional Clothing companies and retailers like JJB don't want to Nike to buy the company and control the replica shirt market. Umbro has a contract with the team to supply shirts until 2014. A contract like that is something each of these companies would love to have. "JJB is protecting its interests in relation to the maintenance of the supply of England shirts," said the company in a statement.
Because JJK owns 10.12pc stake in Umbro and is calling on friends including Mike Ashley of Sports Direct, who owns 15.2pc stake in the company to decline any bids from Nike and other competitors. Together, they own enough stock to block any take over bids from other companies.
For now, Umbro is looking at all its options and has not ruled out any possibility that Nike could take over. If England doesn't qualify for the World Cup next year, sales of replica shirts could be even worse than this year.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
