The Power of Celebrity

It is no mystery that in order to succeed in the fashion world, designers must, in part, rely on celebrities for increased exposure. Former model and fashion designer Cecilia De Bucourt has seen a large increase in the demand of her shawls, shirts, dresses, and other clothing worn by famous celebrities including Heidi Klum and Jessica Simpson.

DeBucourt's designs are simple and feature intricate embroidery and fabrics that have been hand-painted. Her latest line, 'The Gladiator Line', which features tank tops and other clothing in metallic colours has captured the attention of many celebrities and consumers.

"Our product is cool, sexy, and easy to wear. The Gladiator Line is unique because you can wear it basically with anything, and at any event. You will look glamorous either way. Heidi Klum got the same top in two different colors," said DeBucourt.

DeBucourt, who has studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology, enjoys using embroidery and other techniques in her clothing to give them a romantic feel that is still very modern. Her designs can be found in various department stores and online.

After her shawls were featured on Jessica Simpson's reality show 'Newlyweds', the demand for them instantly increased. With encouragement from celebrities, fashion designers like DeBucourt are better able to promote their clothing to consumers.
