The International Herald Tribune reports that the Gap is currently trying to recover from a child labor scandal that broke headlines in India. A British newspaper, The Observer exposed pictures of Delhi children working in sweatshops and it was discovered that some GapKids embroidered shirts were being made
by Delhi children in these hazardous work conditions for extremely low pay. Since the scandal, Gap has taken extra measures to prevent their clothing from being made by children in sweatshops. One of the ways that the Gap is trying to ensure that they are committed to ending child labor in India is by announcing that they have received a $200,000 grant. This grant will be used to make sure that work conditions of workers in India are acceptable. They also would like to hold a conference internationally to discuss the problems in child labor.
The Bhuwan Ribhu of Backpan Bachao Andolan is happy that Gap is making strides to stop international child labor. He feels that the Gap is making a good start. Many of the children who end up in these sweatshops are forced by their parents in hopes that they will be able to make some extra money for their family who live in impoverished communities. Some children are sold to traffickers and forced into sweatshops as well.
Labor in deplorable conditions for children who are as young as 10 years old has been going on for many years. It's time to stop the horrible work conditions these children face. The Gap and government officials in Delhi are making a great impact on the child labor abuse that has been taking over around the world. Hopefully, this will cause more reform in other countries where child labor still exists.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
