Alleged Terrorism T-Shirt Designers May Face Jail Time

Wednesday 05th of December 2007 02:01:47 PM

Alleged Terrorism T-Shirt Designers May Face Jail TimeThe internet sells many t-shirts with many different printed materials on them. A t-shirt can support political issues and express who a person is or what they stand for. Printed t-shirts cause people to talk and even start controversy. The designers of Fighters + Lovers are now paying the price for controversial t-shirts they sold on the internet.

Seven members of an activist group in Denmark designed printed t-shirts with logos from major terrorist groups. The logos are specifically from the terrorist group organisations, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The members of Fighters + Lovers claim that the shirts do not support terrorist activities but many think otherwise. Fighters + Lovers say that they based their t-shirt logos on freedom fighters. If the courts judge against the seven who designed and sold these t-shirts online for £15, they may spend the next 4 years in jail. The group had sold 600 logo t-shirts before being charged with these allegations.

Many feel that t-shirts should be allowed to display whatever they believe, which in some cases, is true. If these t-shirts were indeed supporting terrorist activities, then they were more than just an expression of feelings or beliefs. It crosses the line of human safety across the world. Europe will be watching this case closely and everyone has their own opinions on what the t-shirts really were trying to convey.
