Conventional printing machines produce quality printing on cotton garments but DTG is capable of printing onto polyester because of its new textile inks. Mayer House reports that, Your Embroidery
Services Ltd has found a way to print onto polyester by a new process. DTG uses the same process to print on white garments but puts transfer paper instead. After the design is printed on the transfer paper it is then placed on the poly garment. This is a great advancement for DTG because it allows them to print on a wide range of garments. Prior to the new poly inks, any garments that were 100% polyester could not be printed on because the quality would be too low. Manufacturers won’t have to worry about this any longer with the new advancement in the D1 machine. Tony Whitmore of Your Embroidery Services Ltd says that the D1 machine has a dual head. The company can use the front head for inks because it has four channels. This allows the machine to print mixed medias without having to change anything out. This new upgrade has opened up many possibilities for printing to different surfaces.
