Many students enjoy wearing uniforms because it makes a statement about their pride towards a school. Another reason for it is it forms camaraderie among students. However, some students usually want a change in uniform after they have been worn for a certain amount of years. The students of Ringmer Community College asked for this and it was accepted by the school. Sussex Express reports the standard uniform for Ringmer Community College is black trousers, green fleece, and a white polo shirt. However, since September 2006 senior students have been wearing blazers, shirts, and ties instead. Now the student council wants the whole school wearing the same type of uniform. The school has accepted it and now all students will be required to wear knitted black jumpers, blazer, and shirt with a tie, which represents the specific house they study.
The school has also created a new logo for the blazers. Students, staff, parents, and governors designed the logo. The new uniforms requirements will be in effect in September.
The students are excited about the new uniforms because it shows the school is transforming with modern day. They enjoy letting people know they are part of a school with some of the best engineering, creative and media classes in the area.
