the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

One Person's Lost Luggage is Another's Jackpot

Monday 12th of May 2008 01:57:22 AM

One Person's Lost Luggage is Another's JackpotHave you ever wondered what happens to your lost luggage? Last week, a crowd of 50 people gathered at Greasby’s in South London for an auction of lost luggage. The International Air Transport Association must spend 100 days trying to locate the owners of lost luggage. However, if after 100 days they still have not located the owners of the lost luggage then they may auction off the luggage.

So, who buys the lost luggage and what do they get?

Prior to bidding, the auctioneer gives a brief description of the suitcase and its contents. Often, a traveller who was going on holiday has packed many casual T-shirts while a business traveller may have more formal clothes and polo shirts. However, the auction winner does not receive what any one individual packed. Instead, the contents of the suitcases are taken out and sorted. Valuables such as electronics and jewellery are removed and auctioned separately. The rest of the contents are randomly put back into available suitcases.

British Airways says that when they are unable to reunite luggage and luggage owners within 100 days then they do auction off the lost suitcases and donate the proceeds to charity.

If you are interested in bidding on some of these lost suitcases then you should be aware that the auction house is expecting many bags in the near future. Back on March 27, 2008 Heathrow’s Terminal 5 experienced a technical problem that separated thousands of travellers from their bags. When the 100 day period is complete, British Airways plans to auction off the remaining suitcases.

Although you never know what you are going to receive, you may be able to pick up a bag or group of bags for very few pounds. With any luck the suitcase that you pick will be full of high street clothing and accessories.
