Summer 2008

Thursday 15th of May 2008 02:29:05 AM

Summer 2008What’s the hot fashion for summer in the UK? The designers and fashion publications say the answer is the T-shirt. The T-shirts that are popular for the summer of 2008 are not the old, promotional Clothing that you’ve saved from concerts, parties and other events. Rather, the in T-shirts are designed by artists and cook designs and patterns.

Take the high street store UNIQLO for example. To celebrate the opening of their new store concept, they have created The UT Project – Choose Your T. The UT project has artists, musicians, designers and others designing limited edition T-shirts. The plan is that 1,000 unique T-shirt designs will be added to the collection each year.

Markus Kiersztan who is the consulting creative director if UNIQLO says, “The UT Project has one goal in mind - to let you wear what you love. T-shirts have become an important form of self-expression for the current youth culture, allowing people to highlight their sense of individuality. By selecting artists from all genres and aesthetics to design t-shirts for this project, we have tried to create a collection that embraces the inspiring diversity of our customers.”

Other retailers are also focusing on T-shirts this season. Just about any high street shop that you enter will have a variety of T-shirts that are perfect for summer attire. Most shops, including UNIQLO, are pricing the T-shirts well within reach of the average consumer, especially considering the quality materials that go into making the shirts.

T-shirts are a staple of many people’s wardrobes. So, take a look at some of the reasonably priced high street T-shirts and see what all of the buzz is about. Nobody is suggesting that you give up your favorite, broken in T but a few unique additions may be just what your wardrobe needs.
