the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Blogger sparks removal of SS T-shits

Blogger sparks removal of SS T-shits

The Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is currently removing all skull and crossbones printed T-shirts from its stores across the country because a blogger from Maryland complained that the company were selling t-shirts that had an image imprinted upon them that was identical to an emblem of the Nazi SS from World War Two.

The owner, Rick Rottman, who maintains the blog Bent Corner, wrote a post last week that included a picture of the printed T-shirts alongside an image of the divisional insignia used by a unit of Adolf Hitler's Wassen SS. He said that the image on the t-shirts was very distinctive and he thought he had seen something similar in some word war two books.

The blog's owner had spotted the printed T-shirts in some nearby Wal-Mart stores and decided took a picture with his cell phone as he recognized the image on the shirts. He then looked up the image at home and found that it was the insignia used by Adolf Hitler for the Wassen SS. The Wassen SS were the personal bodyguards of Adolf Hitler and killed many people in sprees across German owned countries. The bodyguards were also used to guard concentration camps during the war.

Wal-mart are now removing the offensive t-shirts from its stores and said that they were not aware of where the, image of a human skull that is angled slightly to one side, came from until someone spotted Rick Rottman's post in his blog. They have apologized to all their customers and anyone that may have been offended by the image. They have said that they would never have stocked this t-shirt had they known what the image actually meant. Wal-Mart is now reviewing their suppliers checking procedures to make sure that this never happens again.
