Age Doesn't Equate Success in Embroidery Business

Rose Rosick may be 80 years old, but she isn’t spending her retirement playing golf or travelling the world. Instead, the extraordinary woman is running her own business. Her business requires her to be not only comfortable with computers, but also machines which are run by computers.
Rosick opened Needles & Thread Creations in her home around five years ago. The custom embroidery business did so well that Rosick enlarged her home. She also found that she needed to purchase a new machine in order to expand the products that her embroidery business can provide. The new machine is computer controlled and uses ink to print pictures of almost anything on T-shirts and other clothes.
According to Rosick, "Everything with this machine is through the computer. You manipulate the color and change the image all on the computer. The embroidery machine is also run by the computer."
However, Rosick is so familiar now with her embroidery machines that she can fix most of the glitches that are minor on her own. But not everyone else is confident in her computer savvy. She has admitted that some people express their doubts in her abilities due to her age. Rose Rosick has never let that stop her, though. In fact, her understanding of her chosen trade and the technology behind it has left many people in awe of her.
Rosick said, “Just hearing people say I couldn’t do it made me want to do it. I’m slower at computers, but I’m determined. It’s a challenge, but I figure it out. I was worried in the beginning about what people were going to think of someone my age going into business, but (Business Networking International) and everyone else has been great. They say I’m an inspiration."
Rose Rosick has certainly inspired her daughter-in-law who is 54 years old. Karen Rosick has identified the older woman as an important force behind another family business, Rosick Well Drilling. She said, "With all her energy, she keeps us going. She’s an extraordinary woman, and she’s very ambitious. I hope I have half her energy when I’m her age."

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
