the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.

Future for Joe-College.com T-Shirt Printing Business Uncertain

Wednesday 16th of July 2008 01:18:48 PM

Future for Joe-College.com T-Shirt Printing Business UncertainJust one day after a United States federal jury ruled in favour of the University of Kansas in a copyright infringement lawsuit against a Lawrence t-shirt printing store, some may be left to wonder the future holds for the store. Whilst there were over 200 shirts in question, only around ¼ of the T-Shirts were found to be in violation of the University copyrights.

The owner of the store, Joe-College.com, said: “I haven't had this much hip in my step for the last 2 months and so we are excited. I’m sure KU feels like they've won the verdict but I feel like we won really. If you cut it up into a pie we still have 75 percent of the pie.”

According to Sinks, he feels his business is going to do just fine and he is still going to print t-shirts. In fact, they've already got two new shirts at the printing presses to reflect their court experience.

Sinks said, “Now we kind of have a parameter of what it is and we are ready to move forward.” He believes that the more than $120,000 (US) awarded to the university, which was one-fourth of what KU had asked for, will be reduced one they present figures to the court.

“On a couple of the shirts they said we can't do, we're not 100% clear of why we can't do them and we need to ask the court what changes need to be made to be able to produce the shirts,” said Sinks.

They do know the words “phog,” “rock chalk,” and “jayhawk” can't be printed. However, according to Sinks, what the court found they can print is a huge victory for all unlicensed t-shirt makers and their favourite customers.

Joe-College.com will adhere to the court ruling and all of the illegal shirts will be off the racks by today. Since the business had gotten rid of most of the shirts when the lawsuit began, there are only a little more than 10 shirt designs that will need to be removed.
