Mike Chitwood Sr.'s agency has gained media attention recently for his T-shirts that say "Not in My Town 'SCUMBAG' ". Sr Chitwood is superintendent of the Upper Darby Police in Pennsylvania and he hates criminals, calling them scumbags as well as other names. He is planning to send some of the printed T-shirts with the message imprinted upon them to his son, who is the Daytona Beach police Chief, Mike Chitwood to see whether it is something he wants to replicate there within his force. The City Commissioner Sheila McKay was one of the first people to wear a 'respect' t-shirt to a commission meeting.
The black-and-white shirts that carry the name and badge of the Upper Darby police force on the front are selling fast. The police officers are thinking of starting a Web site that will be called scumbagteeshirts.com where customers can buy their own shirt for $10. They are hoping that this will be highly popular with the public and other police forces as the company will be giving their proceeds from the printed T-shirts towards a scholarship fund named for the fallen Officer Dennis McNamara. These sponsored scholarships will be awarded to high school students who excel in either art or music.
The Upper Darby Officer, Tim Law, came up with the idea to print his chief's favorite slogan onto a t-shirt and he very much welcomes the idea to promote the printed T-shirts further, especially to the world's most famous beach - Daytona. The t-shirts will help show the local communities that the police do not like criminals and that they are doing everything they can to eradicate so called 'scumbags'. In addition, the scholarships will help less fortunate pupils be able to realize their dream in music or art careers.
