Recent news has indicated that American's are likely to spend a staggering $3 billion on their pets this year at Christmas. People are today treating their pets as if they are four legged children and thus treating them to all sorts of presents and treats. During the past decade, people have been spending more on their pets at Christmas and this is expected to go up even more this year.
You can buy practically anything for your pet these days and many people are amazed at the goods that are being produced for animals today. You can even buy handbags for your pooch or cat. Because less people are having children these days, they are instead spoiling their pets in human terms because they are filling the void in their lives. There are all sorts of ways to pamper your pets from manicures to sending his picture in a Christmas card to send to your doggie pals. Many people used to just get their animals’ picture painted and maybe have their poodle beautified and have a bow put in their hair.
Today is normal to see pets walking around in bling items and expensive coats or specially embroidered shirts. Some people even wear matching clothes along with their dog and cat. The company Petsmart has created a pink parka with a faux fur hoodie for dogs and a cat’s antler hat for cats.
You can buy handmade coats, dresses, polo shirts, and sweaters that are decorated in sequins and pearls. A woman has created a book on how to throw parties for your doggies. She suggests making doggie cookies and gingerbread doghouses for your dog at Christmas. She says that dogs can understand that something special is going on and they love to be pampered too.
