Hugo Boss Clothing Brand Reports Increase

Though some fashion brands are experiencing declines in sales, the Hugh Boss company is not one of them. The results for the first half of fiscal 2008 showed the fashion group sales had increased by 5%. This equates to EUR 831 million. The positive trend in sales is happy news in a highly competitive market that has seen declines for many clothing retailers. The company’s European sales increased 4% after being adjusted for currency rates.In Europe, Hugo Boss retail store sales account for most of the sales increases being reported. Hugo Boss has several fashion profiles or lines of clothing that range from formalwear to printed t-shirts in the leisure and sportswear lines. Though sales declined in Germany, the sales in the rest of Europe rose by 4%. This equates to EUR 299 million.
In North America and Asia the sales reports are even more stunning. Sales increases reached double digit figures. In the USA alone, sales of the Hugo Boss clothing has risen by 17% in US currency as of the first 6 months of 2008 compared to 2007. This figure converted to Euros is 2% for the 6 months of 2008 compared to 2007. It is interesting to note that the Hugo Boss sales in China played an important role in the sales increase figures for Asia. China is seen as an emerging and important market for all fashion retailers. The expansion of the Asia market is just one marketing strategy for Hugo Boss.
Hug Boss has plans to add a new line of clothes called Boss Kidswear. It is also going to expand the royalty business.
