New Uniforms Set to Bolster Staff Morale

Many employers are today trying to update their uniforms to make their staff look more presentable towards customers and so the staff feel more comfortable wearing the outfit. Staff who wear professional uniforms give out an image of credibility to consumers and this can indicate the culture of the business. A suit or shirt and pants can reveal the type of business the employee is working for. Some employers may offer a rental service on their uniforms which means that the condition of the uniform is better because the clothes are cleaned by a professional company and repaired or replaced if needs be. This can prove expensive but may work out cost effective in the long run. Uniforms used to be reviewed around every five years but this is now changing to every two or three years to reflect trends in society. Employers are now looking at comfort, image and practicality when choosing a uniform for their staff. Employers have also realized that their employees uniforms can affect motivation and morale. Some larger companies are choosing a trendier look in order to encourage more up market customers. Another reason for updating a uniform maybe that the current image may look dated and a change may reflect the image and branding. Even the military and healthcare services are making changes to their uniform by changing colours and fabric to make them more practical and fun to wear. Hospital scrubs are not available in more than 40 prints, such as Scooby-Doo, SpongeBob and Peanuts. UPS drivers worldwide uniforms now provide reflective threads for safety for their employees. The uniform is styled with zippers in the armpits for ventilation and there is a choice of brown turbans for workers whose beliefs require them to wear this.
