Russell Athletic is now officially the authorized user of team logos on uniforms worn by recreational athletes around the country. The agreement means that Russell will be providing logo clothing which contains the names of teams from the NBA, the WNBA and the NBA D-Leagues.The promotional clothing includes pants, shorts, t-shirts and many other pieces of athletic wear. The clothes are made out of the newest material which wicks moisture away from the body. The innovative material was invented to enable athletes to stay cool even during the hottest workouts. The clothing line has been designed to be practical. For example, one of the items which Russell will supply is a reversible jersey.
The Vice President of the NBA Global Merchandising Group, Christopher Arena, said, “It is always our goal to grow and celebrate the game of basketball. With Russell Athletic outfitting recreational leagues across the country, we are able to accomplish that goal and also extend our brand to players of all ages through a high quality product.” The clothing will include boys, girls, men and women’s sizes.
Russell Athletics is also joining forces with Spalding to provide one-stop basketball clothing and equipment shopping. Spalding is the Official Game Ball and Backboard of the NBA. The athletic equipment company is going to offer most of the basketball equipment and accessories needed to play the game.
The Russell Athletic Executive Vice President in charge of the venture, Gary Barfield, called Team NBA said, “This program provides Russell Athletic with a connection to the world’s premier basketball league.” The NBA is a global athletic organization which has sponsored games in 215 countries. Russell Athletic has been producing athletic uniforms and clothing for more than 100 years. The clothing is worn by athletes of all ages including grade school, high school, and college age players.
