School Uniforms are now more popular than ever in many countries including the United States. In the US, uniforms
are increasingly being used in schools for a number of reasons. They create a good impression by creating a professional and neat look that projects an image that says good values are upheld in the school. In the UK, school uniforms have been generally used for decades, but in other countries they were once connected mostly with private schools. That is rapidly changing as public schools choose to adopt school uniforms also. It is normally up to the school district to decide on the use of uniforms after taking parental input at hearings. One of the most recent schools to begin using uniforms is San Beda College Basic Education Deparment (SBC BED).
SBC BED was once an all-boys school but now accepts girls too. The school uniform was designed by a uniform committee and conveys the college principles to which it adheres. These qualities include courage, valor, and strength. The uniforms are also designed to be conservative and practical while being comfortable at the same time.
Centro Escolar University has also adopted school uniforms. The current style includes a blouse with skirt for girsl, and pants and polo shirts for boys. The uniforms are all white for the girls which is unusual for a school uniform.
Schools are also using uniforms to teach students how to act professionally and to increase their commitment to chosen programs of study. For example, the Lyceum of the Philippines Unversity has adoped a uniform for students in its tourism program. The uniform is sophisticated and profressional in design. Another school using uniforms in its tourism studies program is the University of Saint Thomas.
School uniforms can take many forms, but once of the most popular designs include promotional clothing which proudly displays the name of the school. T-shirts, polo-shirts, and sweatshirts can usually be found because they are practical and easy to take care of. It is expected there will be more and more schools using uniforms to generate student loyalty within its ranks.
