It has been hard to convince parents and students to convert to school uniforms. As public school districts across the country instituted school uniform policies administrators originally came up against what many saw as a brick wall. Thankfully, creative presentations and packaging have convinced parents and students of the many positive aspects of school uniforms.School districts looking to add school uniform policies in the future often look to schools who have recently implemented them to get ideas on how to approach the situation. According to educators and promotional clothing experts, one of the best ways to introduce the idea of school uniforms is to use the ‘wow’ factor.
Today’s school uniforms are not limited to a few color choices and styles. Schools can take advantage of current fashion trends to make the switch to uniforms easier for fashion conscious students. Fall’s bright t-shirts can carry over to cotton t-shirts and polo shirts as a part of the basic school uniform. “In addition to shirts in school colors, pinks, blues, and even orange hues are being used for school uniforms,” stated Marci Burden when discussing orders her promotional clothing company has received for the year.
Another way to add style to school uniforms is to put the focus on the school logo. Logos on printed t-shirts and polo shirts should be vivid and crisp. They will look best and stand out more when placed on t-shirts and polo shirts in complementary colors. Promotional clothing experts say the simpler the better. The most eye catching logos are “simple and colorful” according to Dick Hatch, a promotional clothing distributor.
Hatch urges his salespeople to promote logo accessories when presenting school uniform ideas to school uniform purchasing committees. Beanies, caps, sweaters, jackets, scarves, tote bags and more can be included as extras with the basic school uniform and look great with the basic t-shirt and khaki pants uniform.
