A person called Jason Dussault has created his own clothing line, which is called Deuce and is being sold in the more up market shops. His clothes are being worn by celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and Robin Williams. When Deuce started out about a year ago, he says, "I knew it was important to get it out there to the right celebrities, to get it on the right people, to show my brand properly." His designs such as eagles, demons and flags are featured on his embroidered shirts and other items of apparel. Most of his clothing has a vintage feel about them and some of them are signed, numbered and hand-painted.
His hero is Todd McFarlane who works in the cartoon business and after Dussault met McFarlane, his hero will be creating some graphic designs for the Deuce clothing range. Even though Dassault's clothing is not cheap, he is having problems keeping up with the increasing demand. Customers can help with the design and embroidery material process. Dassault tries to design each piece individually for the person who is ordering the garment, so that it reflects that person’s character or life.
Dassault does have a day job as an investor, he will go full time with his clothing business when he can afford to as he has two kinds and a partner to support. He is planning to start a Catholicism T-shirt line as he is a Catholic and these will feature bible verses and biblical scenes. His boutique at 56 Powell Street in Gastown is a retro bizarre shop that includes elk heads, a mummy inside a coffin and strange curtains. You need to put a Deuce coin into a slot to get through the locked door to enter Dassault's shop.
