T-Shirts Help Interviewers Look ProfessionalThe unemployment rates around the globe are nothing to laugh at as households struggle to make ends meet. Millions of people are going on interviews every day searching for a job. The question for many is: What is appropriate dress for going on a job interview?

The reason this question comes up is because casual wear seems to be standard at so many workplaces today. That is especially true as employers try to help people working reduced hours cope with the need to save money on clothing. Affordable uniforms are provided or people are allowed to wear nice t-shirts or polo shirts. It can be tempting to dress casual for an interview but that is not really recommended by fashion advisors and experts who specialize in job interviewing strategies. It’s okay to go casual on Casual Fridays once you get hired, but going casual on an interview might send the wrong message.

So what should you wear? Don’t wear jeans and always look groomed. Dress up as if you really want the job and let the employer see you went to a lot of trouble to impress him or her. Wear shined shoes and coordinated colors. And wear t-shirts if you’re a man! In fact, many women wear sleeveless t-shirts under their blouses to make sure they look only professional.

T-shirts still play a role in the sophisticated male outfit. Men should wear nice plain white –t-shirts under their dress shirts. Wearing sweaters is acceptable but printed t-shirts should be worn after you get the job and they hand you your logo clothing.

Making an effort to impress your potential employer can help you stand out in the crowd of competitors. It’s not difficult to look professional and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. The key is to coordinate your colors, look neat and polished, and wear those t-shirts!
